John Tate along with his wife Toni and son Franklin, first went down to Margaret River to plant their first grapes in 1974. Over time John and Toni passed down a passion for growing and making Margaret River wine onto Franklin.
In 2012 Franklin decided to expand his passion and tell his story, and the story of his parents, by founding Franklin Tate Estates. As he takes the knowledge and enthusiasm passed down to him, while he carves out his own path.
Our Director of Winemaking is Frederique Perrin. Formerly LVMH, and most recently Cape Mentelle, she has travelled around the world making wine that truely represents the the appellations from which they derive.
